The Abraj Al-Bait is a megatall complex of seven skyscrapers in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The central skyscraper of the complex is a 120-storey building that stands at a total of 601 meters. This is the largest building in the world by weight and the highest in Saudi Arabia. The Abraj Al-Bait is the third-tallest building after the Burj Khalifa and the Shanghai Tower. Besides, it is the highest hotel in the world.
Ping An International Finance Centre, China
Ping An International Finance Centre is a 115-storey 599-meter supertall skyscraper in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, China. Its construction was finished in 2017. It takes the fourth place among the world's tallest buildings and the second place on the list of the highest buildings in China.
Goldin Finance 117, China
The building, also known as China 117 Tower, is a supertall Chinese skyscraper. However, it is still under construction. The tower is expected to be 597 m with 128 floors. Construction began in 2008, and the building is scheduled to be completed in 2020.
Lotte World Tower, South Korea
Lotte World Tower is a 123-floor skyscraper located near the recreation complex Lotte World in Seoul, South Korea. Its construction began in 2005 but was postponed due to altitude restrictions connected with the proximity to the airport. The restrictions were lifted in 2009 and in 2017 the construction was completed. Lotte World Tower reaches a height of almost 555 m. It is one of the tallest buildings in the world.
1 World Trade Center, US
This is the main building of the World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City. The building is located on the site of the Twin Towers which were destroyed in the terrorist attacks of September 11. This is 94-storey building with a height of 541 m (417 m to the roof). Its construction began in 2006 and was ended in 2014. The 124-meter spire weighing 758 tons was installed on the One World Trade Center, formerly called the Freedom Tower. This is the tallest building in the United States.
Guangzhou Chow Tai Fook Finance Centre, China
The Guangzhou Chow Tai Fook Finance Centre is a skyscraper in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, China. The construction of the building began in 2010 and was finished in 2016. It has 116 floors above ground and 4 or 5 underground floors. There are 414 apartments and 273 hotel rooms (from the 80th floor to the last one) in this skyscraper. Parking is available for 1,705 cars.
Tianjin CTF Finance Centre, China
Tianjin CTF Finance Centre is a supertall skyscraper in China that has been under construction since 2013. It is expected to be completed this year. The center will be the second highest building in Tianjin. At the moment, the height of the building is 530 m, while the number of floors accounts to 97. It is designed as the softly curving glass skin integrating eight sloping megacolumns that follow a lyrical line connecting the centers and corners of all four elevations. These curving megacolumns enhance the structure’s response to seismic concerns.
CITIC Tower, China
CITIC Tower is a supertall skyscraper that is designed to be headquarters of CITIC Group, the largest state investment corporation in China. Its construction was ended in 2018. This 109-storey, 528 m office costs 24 billion yuan ($3.78 billion). Its shape resembles the form of a traditional Chinese ritualistic artifact, the zun.
