On Wednesday, February 9, taxi drivers in London and Montreal decided to support their colleagues protesting against UberX app. Cabbies blocked lanes leading to the arrivals level at Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau airport in Montreal and main streets around the Houses of Parliament and 10 Downing Street in London.
Around 8,000 cab drivers parked their cars in central London bringing the traffic to a standstill. Drivers from France and Belgium also supported cabbies attending the protest in London.

Protesters do not ask the government to ban Uber services completely; they want drivers using this app to follow the same rules as other cabs.
Taxi drivers want Uber to pay the same standard tax imposed across the country.
