In the list of the best spas, there are two Russian resorts. The spa center in the Crimean sanatorium-resort complex Mriya Resort&Spa was awarded for its wellness programs. There are a number of programs designed to treat diseases of the musculoskeletal system, digestive tract, respiratory system, metabolism, blood circulation, reproductive health, etc. All this variety of programs and the complex itself impressed even the jury members of the World Travel Awards. So, Mriya Resort&Spa received this year the highest rating, becoming the World's Best Wellness Retreat.
The second winner from Russia was the Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace St. Petersburg hotel's spa. Special attention was paid to the procedure of The Restructuring Black Caviar Facial. It was noted as the best author's program: "Restructuring procedure for the face with black caviar" is a care based on natural black caviar with a restoring complex of grape extract and gold particles. Also, the spa was marked as Russia's Best Hotel Spa.
World Travel Awards and World Spa Awards have one organizer. The World's Best Hotel Spa became a complex at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel in California. The spa follows the European, Thai, Indian and Balinese relaxation philosophies.
The World's Best Private Island Spa award went to Anantara Spa at Banana Island Resort Doha in Qatar. In the spa, there are single and double suites, cabinets for cosmetology procedures, swimming pools, and hammams. Scrubs are made from Arabian plants. It managed to bypass other spa complexes located on the islands of Fregate (Seychelles), Velaa (the Maldives), and Laucala (Fiji).
The best medical spa - Lanserhof Tegernsee - receives the award for the third consecutive year. The famous wellness center, founded in 1973, is located in the Austrian province of Tyrol. The cost of the seven-day program starts from £3,479 per person.
The award is given even to a spa in the desert, the best was Anantara Spa at Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort. The brand procedure - a three-day recovery course - includes dairy baths, a floral ritual for feet, Thai massage with herbal compresses, and facial skin treatments.
The Spa&Bath House at The Royal Crescent Hotel&Spa was recognized as World's Best Country House Hotel Spa. It is located in the UK. The Bath House Spa Center is situated in the former inn and stables. The building of the hotel, ranked among the architectural monuments of the 1st degree, was first settled in 1775. Last year the complex was updated and now includes several swimming pools, a sauna with Himalayan salt, and room for aromatherapy. Rare cosmetic brands are used for the procedures. Some of which are made specifically for the spa.
Best Day Spa went to Gaia Retreat&Spa in Australia. Jury members noted its balanced recovery programs, designed for two, three, five or seven days. In the spa, there is a store which sells even food. The cost of procedures starts from $50, and on average the whole complex will cost $250.
Morocco became World's Best Spa Destination of the year according to the version of the World Spa Awards. This place seemed to the jury more interesting than California, Dubai, Jamaica, Switzerland and New Zealand.
